Recruiting for a Female Halfway Home Assistant

S.A.L.V.E. International is looking to recruit a female Home Assistant – could it be you?

Home Assistant: This is a role where you stay residentially caring for children for up to 3 weeks per month. You will be expected to be able to cater for 30-50 people per day in a residential care setting. This is a role for someone with the heart and passion to work with children who have been living on the streets in Uganda and who works well with others in a team. They will love caring for children, keeping a home clean, cooking and counselling children. They will be a person who likes to do their work to a high quality, has good time keeping and can keep good records in files and on a computer.

Qualifications: We are especially interested in hearing from candidates with catering qualifications and/or social work/ counselling.

Languages: We need someone who can speak English as well as Luganda or Lusoga

S.A.L.V.E. International stands for Support and Love Via Education International.

S.A.L.V.E. exists to give love and opportunities via education to children and the families of children living on the streets of Jinja, Uganda. We aim to see children leave the streets and return to a stable family home and education to help them to become happy, self-sustaining, responsible adults.

We achieve this through; Drug Rehabilitation, Street Outreach work and Home Resettlement, counselling and rehabilitation, Educational Support, Community and Family Education and Business Empowerment, fundraising and awareness raising.

We are based in Jinja city, within Jinja district. This role is based at our head offices in Namulesa.
