Street Outreach Services
Children living on the streets are some of the most vulnerable, marginalised and mistreated members of society, often using drugs as a mechanism to cope with their difficult lives. They do not have access to shelter, medical care or education and they don’t have the care or support of loving family members. Life on the streets is one of extreme poverty, with constant danger of physical, emotional and sexual abuse.

Our Street Outreach programme acts as an essential starting point for building trusting relationships with children on the streets. Our team of social workers carry out street walks and sports sessions to meet the children in their own spaces, learn about their situation and develop their self-confidence and resilience.
We run two Drop in Centres – one for boys and one for girls - where children can come during the day to access a variety of educational lessons, food, water, medical care, washing facilities and counselling. We can support over 800 children through our Street Outreach programme each year.

Once a child is ready to change their life and leave the streets, we develop an action plan with them, tailored to their specific needs. Around 75% of children are referred for further counselling, care and support in one of our Halfway Homes or at our Drug Rehabilitation Centre and the other 25% are resettled home directly from the streets.
