Schools across Europe have broken up for summer and many people have holidays, long weekends and hopefully a few more sunny days to look forward to. Myself, I’ve just booked to go back to Uganda later this year (where I’ll be getting my guaranteed sunshine instalment!) and I’m already excited to see the progress and positive change that will have been made by our team since I was last there.
Working with children makes you really appreciate how quickly time does fly. Whether that’s appreciating that another school year is over, celebrating a milestone such as a move of schools or receiving exam results, or in my case returning to Uganda to see that they’ve all grown so much in just a few months!
We will be celebrating our own milestone early next year and we really hope that you’ll consider making your next holiday one with us. So if you want sunshine in January, a once in a lifetime experience, a challenge to remember as well as the chance to see what an amazing difference your support can make, read on.
P.S. We had you at “sunshine in January”, right?! 😎😝
Join us on Mount Elgon
On 1st February 2023 S.A.L.V.E. International will celebrate its 15th birthday. We want to celebrate in the sky atop Mount Elgon in Uganda with you!
Mount Elgon is where the final decision to set-up S.A.L.V.E. was made (and our name chosen too) back in 2008, and with its highest peak at 4,321 metres above sea level we will be taking a 6 day hike to revisit that special spot.
Anyone looking to take on this exciting challenge will need to be free between Monday 23 January – Sunday 5th February 2023. This time allows for a 6 day mountain hike, a holiday camp with S.A.L.V.E. to meet the children, time for travelling to/from Jinja and also some important rest and relaxation days!
We have lots of information on our website and you can watch our Q&A video below too. We hope you’ll join us (or kindly sponsor those who do the climb) when the time comes! Please get in touch if you have any questions about the trip at all.
