It has been a delight this week to hear stories of children returning school for their second term in Uganda.
As a charity, we are passionate about children having the opportunity to build themselves brighter futures through education. It is the “E” in S.A.L.V.E. after all! (Support and Love via Education, for all those who don’t know!).
While we encourage children into education we also pride ourselves on giving children the opportunity to learn through play. There is lots of research on the value of play in childhood and the lessons it teaches. Sadly children who have been on the street often miss out on the chance to have fun and play due to having to focus on their own survival.
Offering children the chance to get involved in everything from sports to craft activities, and from board games to adventuring in our playground: we love to see the children play and enjoy themselves!
And we want you, as members of our global family to take the time to play too this summer! I am inviting you to host a Summer Picnic for S.A.L.V.E. this year and take time out with friends and loved ones to raise funds for S.A.L.V.E. and also raise awareness of our work.
We have lots of information online about how to take part and plan a fun picnic with a purpose this summer. Click this link or the image below to find out more.

Thank you for being part of our vision for there to be ‘No Street Called Home’ for children in Uganda. We couldn’t do this without you. 💚
See S.A.L.V.E. from the air
Ever wondered what our S.A.L.V.E. site looks like? It brings us lots of joy to share this drone footage with you of our residential site and the surrounding areas in Uganda. Doesn’t it look beautiful?
We hope that it brings our site to life for you and you can picture better where we do our vital work in supporting children to leave the streets.
